Our objective, at Alms For Humanity, is to uplift and assist those who are in need. We aim to do this by identifying the difficulties that exist for an individual or the deficiencies that are present within a particular system or community. Subsequently, we aim to formulate and execute our plan to alleviate these challenging circumstances. We aspire to perform our Islamic duty of serving humanity, thus practically applying the Islamic values that our lives are based upon.
HISTORY
The organisation was formally established in Durban, KZN, in the year 2020 (Islamic Year 1441).
The conceptualization of this organisation during the Covid-19 Pandemic, bears testimony the the fact, that even during times of adversity, a beacon of hope will arise. Two of the three trustees have been pro-active in facilitating & mobilising charitable ventures in their localities for many years prior to forming Alms for Humanity. The experience & wisdom gained from their efforts are unparalleled.
The Masks for Humanity campaign during Covid-19 provided a platform us in working towards a common goal. With the advent of the Mthatha Project in the Eastern Cape, the capacity to work as individuals had been exceeded and thus, Alms for Humanity was born; To Uplift, Motivate & Empower.
We are committed to a 100% donations policy, which means every single cent donated is used strictly for charitable efforts. Donations go into a ‘charity-only’ bank account from which nothing is removed for fundraising or administration costs. Whether R1 or R100, every little bit helps!
